My step proved to be fruitful, and with no regrets, I loved doing what I was doing. Finally, with the culmination of my bachelor’s, I decided to gain more in-depth knowledge of MIS and understand how Information system managers may work not just in the technology sector but also in other areas like health care. Since information systems are utilized for a wide range of tasks, from the automation of payroll deposits to the collecting of clinical trial findings, I am propelled to garner more insights on the same from this course from the McGill university.
I have always been dedicated to learning something new through my academics; my interest manifested in my transition proved to be conducive to my growth. Learning cloud computing enhanced my interest, and from there on, I didn’t look back. From learning how to utilize Linux command-line interfaces, cloud enablement technologies, deployment of cloud resources, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS systems to solve business problems to common Cloud automation and security technologies for Cloud infrastructure in AWS, all helped me establish a strong footing for my career. I developed the capacity to collaborate in a cloud environment that enabled me to operate in the field interaction and exchange of information more conveniently than I could through conventional channels. Through my well-sorted curriculum, we mastered the skills to utilize cloud computing which helps in providing staff, contractors, and third parties access to the same data if a project is being managed from different locations. Backing data and storing it through the internet saved a lot of time and enhanced accessibility.
With every new concept and class, I began to analyse things better and was more than enthralled to be a part of such a domain. Staying abreast of classroom learning, I also ventured into multidimensional activities and saw extracurricular as one of the most reliable sources for it. The most I value was being a member of Global Connections at University of California, where I arranged ‘Coffee hour’ outreach sessions for incoming international students and school advisors. Additionally, I also worked at Ford Foundation, which helped people procure food, blankets, medications, and other services for homeless people in India during the pandemic lockdown. These experiences bolstered my courage to interact in various domains.
One such sphere was my internship, where I, as Data Operator in an accountancy firm, got the opportunity to learn how to analyse data and present it in MS Excel. My responsibility equipped me with a substantial understanding of the analysis of data in real-world business settings. However, I had prior knowledge of it since I took an introduction to Business Analytics course in my undergrad. Interning in this space helped me carve out my ultimate inclination toward the field, and fostering it with my prior knowledge pushed me to pursue a Master’s in Information Systems.
